Cabot Primary School
Daphne Wright

Commissioned by Foreground as part of Bristol City Council’s Primary/Bristol series of artist commissions for Primary schools, Daphne Wright will be making a series of new works for Cabot Primary School.

Cabot Primary School is located in the heart of St Pauls, Bristol. The school draws it pupils from the socially and ethnically diverse, vibrant community of the area and emphasises collaboration and the recognition of the individual as core to its teaching.

Through extended engagement with the school Daphne Wright is exploring making a new work for Cabot Primary that will consisting of a series of sculptures to be used in the reward and recognition structures at the school. In this way Wright’s artworks will be imbedded firmly in the regular structures of the school’s social strategies cementing the familiarity and value of her work in the everyday lives of the pupils.

This project has been commissioned and funded by Bristol City Council as part of the Primary Capital Education Programme. The works will be permanently housed at Cabot Primary School, Bristol.
