Foreground Director Simon Morrissey appointed by CAMP, Plymouth to mentor artist Stuart Robinson

Our Director Simon Morrissey has been appointed by CAMP (Contemporary Art Membership Plymouth) Plymouth to mentor artist Stuart Robinson as part of their Arts Council England funded programme of visual arts professional development.

An established mentor, Simon regularly mentors artists, curators and others involved in contemporary art to better understand their own goals and build more fulfilling, connected and successful careers.

Stuart, who is based in Cornwall, works predominantly with installation and sculptural objects informed by imagery and inspiration from a wide range of sources across art, landscape, and popular culture using familiar shapes, colour and materials from our daily encounters with media, signs and surroundings.

Stuart has exhibited work nationally and internationally and was awarded one of 2 South West Showcase exhibitions at the Gallery at Plymouth College of Art in 2017. He has also won prestigious national commissions such as ITV Creates, where he created RGB, a bespoke ident artwork for broadcast by the television channel in 2019.

Simon will work with Stuart on developing his career until Spring 2021.

You can find out more about Stuart Robinson’s work on his website.
