The Frome Independent returns from Sunday 5th March 2017
We believe that culture creates communities and The Frome Independent does just that. Conceived of as a curated, destination event that would re-invent the idea of the street market, The Frome Independent closes the whole of Frome town centre to traffic, transforming the town into a pedestrian playground to bring visitors and residents together against a backdrop of culture, community and conversation.
On the first Sunday of each month between March and December 2017, The Frome Independent will reclaim Frome’s high street to showcase its award winning temporary community of the best creative designers, contemporary makers, food producers and independent traders in the South West.
Established in 2013, The Frome Independent has quickly grown to be one of the most significant tourist events in the South West, attracting audiences of between 80,000 and 90,000 annually. Mixing established models of the specialist street market – artisan food, garden & flowers, antiques and collectibles – with a central commitment to contemporary designers and makers, The Frome Independent combines these elements with the best of festivals and galleries: live music, DJs, street food, art projects, kids workshops and events. So what are you waiting for? Come and reclaim the high street with us!
Dates for The Frome Independent in 2017 are March 5th, April 2nd, May 7th, June 4th, July 2nd, August 6th, September 3rd, October 1st, November 5th and December 3rd.
