Foreground Director Simon Morrissey to speak at Art Inspiring Change Seminar at Turner Contemporary

Foreground Director Simon Morrissey will speak at Art Inspiring Change at Turner Contemporary on Wednesday 28th June 2017.

Art Inspiring Change is a child-led project that launched in January 2016; it is Turner Contemporary’s most ambitious learning initiative to date and sees them working with 80 children from 4 primary schools between January 2016 and July 2017.

The seminar will discuss what the Art Inspiring Change project achieved, the context of other similar projects in the UK and how child-led leadership can be facilitated and inspire us all to lead regeneration.

As part of the seminar Simon Morrissey will be discussing Foreground’s involvement in Bristol City Council’s Primary/Bristol programme, which is designed to include artists in the development of primary schools in the city, as well as the Frome project Instructions for an Ordinary Utopia that saw artists working directly with students from Frome Community College to conceive of new temporary works for the town.
