Foreground Director Simon Morrissey selected as Seminar Leader at Jamboree 2018
We are delighted to announce that Simon Morrissey will be one of five Seminar Leaders at Jamboree 2018.
Based on the Darlington Estate near Totnes, Devon and developed by LOW PROFILE, Jamboree brings together 150 visual artists, curators & programmers from around the UK to co-deliver a programme of presentations, micro-exhibitions, activities and discussions.
Initiated as a response help artists overcome the barriers of money, geography and time that frustrate them meeting other artists, curators and programmers to help develop their practices and careers, Jamboree will draw on both expert-led sessions and per to peer activity to create a vibrant weekend of networking and inspiring activity between 28th June and 1st July 2018. Simon will lead a structured seminar on commissioning new temporary and permanent artworks in the diverse social and physical structures of communities.
Other seminar leaders include Alistair Hudson (Director of Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art), Celine Condorelli (Artist and Professor at Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti), Emily Speed (Artist) and Ingrid Swenson (Director of PEER, London).
