Foreground Director Simon Morrissey elected as panel judge for Paul Hamlyn Foundation Awards for Artists 2017
We are delighted to announce that Foreground Director Simon Morrissey was elected as one of five panel judges for the prestigious Paul Hamlyn Foundation Awards for Artists 2017. Other judges appointed were Jane Hamlyn (Chair), Sonia Boyce (2016 recipient artist), Lizzie Carey-Thomas (Head of Programmes, Serpentine Gallery) and Dr Nicholas Cullinan (Director, National Portrait Gallery).
Paul Hamlyn Foundation is one of the UK’s largest independent grant-giving organisations, giving grants to organisations which aim to maximise opportunities for individuals to experience a full quality of life. Through unconditional funding instalments over three years, the Awards for Artists award supports artists at a timely moment in their careers, giving them the freedom to develop their creative ideas and contributing to their personal and professional growth.
Previous recipients of the Awards for Artists award include Michael Dean, Katrina Palmer, Andy Holden, Elizabeth Price, Phyllida Barlow, Olivia Plender, Adam Chodzko and Jim Lambie.
This year’s Visual Arts recipients are Steven Claydon, Peter Kennard, Linder, Charlotte Prodger and Rehana Zaman.
